At the Centre of Chaos

by Stephanie Smith

There's a secret song
buried deep in a waking nightmare
A haunting chorus of shadows that
stretches far and wide

There's a secret place
where angels dance inside a thunderstorm
where dimensions are born out of chaos
A cacophony that builds at the
centre of it all

Even gods are not immune to lightning strikes
and huddle together to wait out the storm

There's a hum growing louder
somewhere inside eternity
A calm that only comes
when all the stars are aligned just right

A strange kind of comfort crawling around
forever in the dark
