Eternity’s Edge

by J. B. Hogan

Standing at eternity’s edge
time’s arrow aimed far;
billions of galaxies always unknown
time spinning and circling
around, beyond, and unseen
infinity waiting, turning in on itself
end already done, future well past,
present gone in the blink of an eye,
understanding always just beyond reach,
standing by forever’s unknowable shore.
