Obliviously Oblivious

by Heath Brougher

With absolute tyranny
feint fiends tell fascist stories
to lull you into becoming what they are,
cattle drivers of the Quo.
They don't want people to soar.
They want to throw people in cages.
They want to rip away our worlds, our words.
"Censorship!" they scream as they stab
the soul of any Pauper Prince
who dare speak their unique rude Truths.
They dislead because they have been misled
and they take out the shame
of their shackles upon society's outliers.
They tremble easily, even when couched
in their faux confidence
of socially acceptable imperialism.
They thrive in it. Which is why I blare
my brightest freedom in front of them
every chance I get. For they are nothing
but cowardly copies of the algorithmic menticide
and shake so easily at the slightest
flicker of Truth or Freedom.
