Our One True Place in Time
by J. B. Hogan
Like explorers of old, we search
through mists of time and place,
sometimes with guide, sometimes without,
seeking our place, our hazy goal,
trying this path, then that,
shifting direction as needed, as required,
climbing here, falling there,
hoping elusive success is
just around the next corner
just beyond the next fog bank,
that low lying clouds may lift,
revealing the blue, bright sky
at journey’s completion,
when at last is found, revealed,
our one true place in time.
