Batching Tadpoles

by G. Thomas Edwards

Did the cell need
or desire
to slither
from the slime?
Minute these increments
of time
the chicken or the egg
irrelevant today
in the replication
of DNA.
Creationists appeal,
Darwinist demand;
eventually,
even
intelligent design
succumbs to
gradually evolving,
naturally occurring
chance
by command.
As always was
will always be
a simple change
random probability or
Irreducible Complexity.
It is but cataloged hierarchy
appending at the ends
the double helix
starts transformed
the cycle once again.
Is war desired
or simply a need?
Insignificant
the origin of cause
its carnage
heaped on high
mutating the
'Intelligently Designed'
as did proteins once brew
in the primordial slough.
