Neptunium Girl
by Meg Smith
You asked me for the elements.
What I had to offer glows,
a brief and futile fire,
but wrought no less from the rocks
of Earth or the blood of my brain.
I am whole. I am not futile.
I am a natural thing, I am full
electric in my own planetary power.
