Shared Reality
by Kenneth Vincent Walker
For you and I no longer
Have a shared reality—
The world as we knew
It no longer exists as it
Slips out of its orbit and
Spins out of its ellipse.
Well, how can this be?
Reality is reality and yet
We see only what we
Want to see, disagreeing
With each other intensely
As the obvious is no longer
Seen as blindingly obvious
To those refusing to see.
For you and I, no longer do
We have a shared reality.
