Keeping Up With The Zombies
(a found poem)
by Juan Manuel Perez
I’ll admit it! I’ve had to double check
my calendar more frequently lately.
I guess I’m afraid I will miss something.
Recently, I took a few minutes to
make a [clear] list of [everyone] I have
[eaten] in the past year [or so I think].
It was [three] pages long. Then I looked [on]
ahead at the [people] I was going
to [eat] in the coming months [or next year].
It got even longer. [But] don’t worry
it’s all part of the plan. A year ago,
the [hoard] started acting out on long [goals]
aimed at becoming more diverse, [even]
inclusive, strengthening [eating habits].
