Beyond My Comprehension
by Kenneth Vincent Walker
If the Earth were the
Size of an apple and
The atmosphere then
Would be its peel, its
Skin; that protective
Barrier that insulates
Our world from space
Is approximately just
That razor thin. Why
We have such little
Regard for science,
Such little regard for
Our own existence,
That we'd purposely
Destroy that which
Sustains us is beyond
My comprehension,
So much so, I don't
Know where we begin.
