270 Million Light Years from Earth
by J. B. Hogan
Interacting galaxies IC 1623, seen
from the Webb Space Telescope,
blending together in awesome
translucent interstellar beauty,
seen from a stunning distance
unfathomable 270 million light years
from earth, holding ancient, ancient
mysteries, wonders, and perhaps an
amazing view for some long forgotten
eyes raised to their heavens, seeing
that blending, folding together of
countless stars, worlds unknown,
seen now by other eyes, countless
eons in a future maybe too far
to even dream of.
