Confession

You and I,
We're 2 addicts
together,
2 vampires,
and what are vampires
if not addicts?
If you watch them in any movie,
The Hunger, The Addiction,
what are vampires
if not addicts?
You with your heroin,
and what you are willing
to do for that heroin,
what you feel you're good enough
to get paid for it to get high,
what men like myself praise you for,
and me, just as addicted,
terrified of not ever
seeing you again,
so I can do what I want and need
with you,
my addiction
almost the same as you,
what I desire from you,
convincing myself
that I love you
when it's just need,
just like you call me when
you need money,
2 addicts, 2 vampires
doing this over and over again
for 6 years,
and except for dying,
We would do it over and over again
for another 6 years,
and if we were undead,
2 vampires,
we would do it forever—
