2 doors

Romans 15 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy.
The Moon and the Yew Tree
Sylvia Plath
The message of the Yew tree is blackness—blackness and silence.

I find myself in a corridor facing 2 doors—
I find myself at a crossroads—
To the left a door, to the right a door—
Which door do I go through?
What do I want to believe?
The inevitability of darkness and nothing
Or is a Sun rising nearby?
A Sun shining brightly,
Giving hope, the possibility of change,
The joy of beauty of trees and clouds—
Is it not worth staying alive for?
What does the Book tell me?

Romans 8: 37
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

In Ariel, Plath writes,
The drive Into the red eye,
the cauldron of morning.
I cannot not believe in hope.
Every day I spend w my children
Reminds me
there is light,
and that the sun will rise,
and that the sun
brings change and light-

and the darkness he called night.
