Coyolxāuhqui 3000

by Juan Manuel Perez

forgotten in time
where most ancient gods slumber
meters below stone

⚫⚫
peace with centuries
preserved in countless pieces
they found her body

⚫⚫⚫
bronze prophet chanting
warns of not disturbing her
citing creation

⚫⚫⚫⚫
sacrifice for gods
by the very gods themselves
men should not meddle

white-science affair
fancies Frankenstein's folly
their will blinds their way

modern miracle
stitched together and alive
the goddess reborn

⚫⚫

gone now is the moon
as four hundred gods return
…we won't stand a chance
