Opening the Box

by Jean Jones

There comes a time
in life
where you
stumble upon something

you were not meant
to see-

Finding out, for example,
that that stranger you meant to help
is really a serial killer,

or when you open that box
given to you by that
well intentioned stranger

It really IS the box
that brings on
the Cenobites
into this world
and you realize,

"Oh No! I screwed up
and these demons from Hell
have shown up,
waiting to rip
my body to pieces,
over and over again,
for their pleasure-"

The box, the chains,
and the Cenobites,
all waiting to tear me apart,
over and over again-
"Such wondrous sights
to feel, over and over again-"
