Sister Swarm
by Meg Smith
We were born of this same cloud,
you and I —
a fast-moving night,
in a path of purpose.
To the harvest —
we seek the best crops,
the best cities.
But, our wings fall — dry,
lacking blood, light or love.
We do not weep
for what we cannot hold.
