The Dark Sky Park

by Meg Smith

Exactly as you lived,
you fall, and cover —
a circle of light.
Here, scattered,
in whole degrees,
bright, splinters,
in white.
The leaves fold,
cold fingers over all.
And there, your halo,
a night sky reversed
amid ash, and stone.
Soon, coming —
seekers
of your last discovery.
