Sea Star Child

by Meg Smith

Knowing —
an ocean
that needs no light:
You were my light —
seeker,
astronaut,
a cosmos
for the blind.
You will never be less.
You, and your father,
in such fine vessels —
I'm the only one
unbound.
But some constellation,
you are,
and I,
two bears,
bright,
in the blue-dark.
