Poets and Storytellers
by Richard Tornello
There are millions of us out there,
Spewing words and rhyme.
Most, in our life times,
don’t even earn a dime.
A Thank You, That One Was Funny
Or this one was just fine
Or even very good musical lines,
Is all the payment we’ll ever receive
In this our lifetime.
We know we have to do it.
They just comes bursting forth,
Words like pictures from our mental froth.
Words like sounds
With ideas that can make one laugh or frown.
Still, financial recognition of some kind
Useful for our creative life-time lines,
It would be good or even fine
For a pizza, a burger or a glass of wine.
