The making of Pluto
by Meg Smith
What to say to a child,
the broken crown,
a doctor's panic —
pushing back the fissures,
and in the end,
a broken sphere,
but still –
every thought
intact. Every mind.
Staring into the dark ellipse,
still knowing.
