Meteorite
by Sebastian Popescu
Comet, fast at last, Here!
Hidden from the storm,
Fires in the House of Glory,
Cards prepared to win.
Memphis, Minos, Minus,
Just another rhyme,
When you drop that dime,
Kidding or not!
Won that space and time
Destructive by force,
Concrete with desire,
Comes with fire!
Broken into pieces
There is no need.
For you to fuss or kid!
Time has gone, like a meteorite!

-to Jean Jones the consecrated poet of the “dark
angel of death” from the far-land of Indonesia.
I wrote and dedicated this poem “Meteorite” because as I come to
understand your beautiful world of literature and poetry, I also
discover myself within your poems, writing. You have been an
inspiration for me, something that, gives me great knowledge,
experiences and choices to be made in the future. With much admiration
for your work.
Sebastian in his own words:
"I come from a family of writers, (my grandfather, Panait Popescu,
published the novel: "LIMPING FOOL" (in Romanian "Mascariciul
Shiop") in the '70s.
My parents are English/French/Romanian teachers and
both
of them speak the Roman's languages. I come from a family where good
& proper notion of education includes extended writing in
Romanian and later on in life English.
I learned English when I was 14, but did not speak
fluently until I
turned 17. I adore
the language, because it is very grammatically structured, and I
consider
English as a noble country's world wide speaking language.
My love for poetry started when I was 13 years old, I
fell in love, and
started to write my sincere compliments through love letters in verse.
I love the girls, and wanted to give them flowers & poetry, and
they loved it too."
