Spook

Imagine my surprise
at finding not everyone
could walk through walls.
While my peers
were learning math facts
and phonics on flash cards,
I was learning how not
to slip into the earth.
Such a messy, lonely
process, and it eventually
becomes too warm.
If I'm confessing, I guess
I'm still learning etiquette
about how to disappear,
reappear, and move
through a world of solids.
