want so badly to overcome we leap great leaps

delve deep depths into an aging earth
(fuel)
calculate, and build machines to calculate
(the gaps)
how frightening, the emptiness
(between us)
how frightening, the possibility
(both in macrospace and microspace)
that it is an impossibility
(?an uncrossable distance)
how frightening, the thought
(or only a thought?)
that it is not
