God Rest Ye, HP Lovecraft
by Iain Muir
He's resting, dread C'thulhu,
in distant R'lyeh!
Awaiting, dread C'thulhu, his resurrection day!
To take us all, this great old one, in his repulsive grasp,
Dread tidings of horror and woe, (horror and woe!)
Dread tidings of horror and woe!
Off Innsmouth's shore lurks
Day-ay-gon, the dweller in the deep!
Past Devil's Reef is Day-ay-gon, out where the deep ones sleep.
He'll wait until the stars align, and then he'll rise once more!
Dread tidings of horror and woe, (horror and woe!)
Dread tidings of horror and woe!
Forget ye not Nyarlathotep, who
in the desert roams!
He's cold and cruel, Nyarlathotep, so say the ancient tomes!
He walks the Earth while others rest, and gathers hearts and souls.
Dread tidings of horror and woe, (horror and woe!)
Dread tidings of horror and woe!
And outside time sits
Yog-Sothoth, the lurker at the gate,
Both key and lock is Yog-Sothoth, who does eternal wait.
To see his face will rend your mind, your thoughts away will take,
O he-erald of unending night (unending night!)
O he-erald of unending night!
At Kadath in the co-old waste a
nameless evil dwells,
A terror to the Great Old Ones, it lives upon the fells.
Antarctic night it fills with light, sets mountain tips aglow,
The shogoths cry tekeli-li, tekeli-li!
The shogoths cry tekeli-li!
Beyond the peaks of ma-a-adness
the great plateau of Leng;
The redoubt of the great old ones, far from the haunts of Men.
Its great cyclopean city lies buried 'Neath the ice
Where shogoths cry tekeli-li, tekeli-li!
The shogoths cry tekeli-li!
