At the Edge of the End

by Stephen Jarrell Williams

Sick
dark and falling

finding others deeper
down the hole

hollow earth
catacombs into caverns

albino woman
near blind opening her eyes

caressing me
humming

her name
Janna of a thousand years

this side of hell
her domain

I pretend not to hear
distant tormenting

snuggling into her arms and legs
her cold flesh soothing my fever

as she readies me for the end
a deeper fall from the last edge to the pit.
