God Evolved to make Darwin

There was a brilliant burst,
Everything sprang into being—
God started to evolve.

Sparks of life caught fire in myriad forms,
Exploding all across a thawing Earth.
Higher consciousness took shape,
Conceptualized a higher power.
God continued to evolve.

At some point, God took control of
Many of us, especially the powerful.
God was said to have lit the spark of creation.
Some contemplate God's form all their lives;
A corner of our consciousness rules us now.

Moral values promoted orderly, healthy homes,
Young minds grew into prominent scientists
who then disproved the existence of God -
God who established moral law to begin with.

Where lies the chicken and where lies the egg -
Is it all lies, smoke and mirrors?
Only God could know the answer,
That is… if God exists.
