Not Forgiven

by William Landis

Signed on the line
Initialed here and there
Now a solider
A fighter in the galactic force
Yes it is certain death
And painful also
But its better to die
Of a burning brain
Than to live
With a broken heart
But when that light
Hits my forehead
You can believe
My dieing thought
Will be of you
The guilt
I can not live with
I would rather die
After I’ve been forgiven
Please grant me that
So that I will board that ship
And leave this planet for my last
At peace
