MW Orion
by Aurelio Rico Lopez III
The vigilant captain stood proudly
On the bridge,
Shoulders straight and chest out.
The MW Orion moved
Gracefully like a giant beast
In the calm waters of space.
An explosion shook the vessel
But the captain hardly flinched,
The scars on his face and arms
Testaments
To his experience in battle;
He was no greenhorn.
Outside, the night rippled
Like the surface of a pond.
Pirates behind a cloaking signal.
Battle stations!
The ship hummed as the force field charged.
The mighty Orion roared.
