Implant
by Christian Ward
They planted a transmitter
inside my head. The greys
lifted the skin of my mind
and reworked its circuitry.
Something flashes. An SOS
to their base under the sea.
Take me away from all this
I dream. And just like snow,
they arrive. A blackboard
of night is pulled over my
eyes. The flick of a switch
and a doctor's lying smile.
