Cheney, Cheney, Lying Might

With apologies to William Blake (Really!)

by Richard Tornello

Cheney Cheney deceiving might
With the forces of the Right.
What immoral hand and eye
Could frame thy speaking falsely lie?

In what distant deep under sky
Burnt the need to falsify?
On whose wings do you aspire?
What power do you seize, aspire?

And whose shoulders and whose arms
Could twist and pull apart
And when those arms give up about.
What dread hand? What dread feat?

What the hammer? What the chain?
Using water-boarding claims?
What the prison? What the dread grasp?
Dare your deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars throw down their spears,
And heaven watered with its tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he whom made the lamb make thee?
