The Grave

by Penny Cockrell

The lady is in a cemetery late at night.
She came to visit her late husband's grave.
She wishes he were alive and with her again.

The lady sits down by his grave.
She cries and says how much she misses him.
She feels a slight rumbling from the grave.

Before she had time to leave,
a hand came up from the grave.
The hand touches the lady's hand.
She is frightened at first,
but then she feels comfort.

A touch from the other side was all she needed to get through the night.
