Acceleration

…we passed Pluto the very first day
tearing apart the virgin gulf of space
with ion echoes from our engine’s drone
pushing us…

… past Centauri and then past light speed
whereupon time bent and reality melted away
and we found ourselves stranded somewhere
beyond Eternity…
