Creation
by Gary William Crawford
The creation eludes me.
I don't know if it will
be a man or a monster.
I've studied a lifetime,
yet I stand, terrified, before it.
The spark of life,
I fear, is waning.
When will the lightning
of artistry strike?
When can I write a poem
that is a living man?
Isn't the man myself?
Are not creator
And creation one?
The answer is nothing more
than another question.
