Look Now!

by Mark McLaughlin

Look now
Here now
This is not the end somehow
Fear now
We're now
Trapped within a cyclic rhyme
That holds from us the end of time
In hallowed hall, the place for us
Wherein we'll dwell as peaceful dust
But this last doom is here denied
The promise made was a promised lied
And held we are for all the years
And made we were for uncounted tears
For even as it seems to end
In time will come that awful bend
And a voice shall raise as all heads bow
And say

Look now
Here now
This is not the end, somehow...
