I Want To Have a Name
by Christopher T. Dabrowski
Translated from Polish by Julia Mraczny
"X560D, explain why you want a name.”
"It's simple,” sighed the android. "I'm human.”
"No. You have a synthetic body. You're an android.”
"And yes, and no.”
"Excuse me?”
"Your biological brains are the carriers for the energetic dataset you call the soul. And my synthetic brain, apart from the
material, is no different from yours.”
"Well, it does, but you weren't born.”
"I know I was manufactured. But it doesn't change the fact that one of the souls decided that in its next incarnation it felt
like experiencing the life of an android and settled down in this body.”
