Does John Gilbert Exist?

I am under the odd impression that John Gilbert exists, although he shouldn't. Yes, I dream that I'm him periodically, but until now I thought he was merely a creation of my mind, but... Lately, when dreaming I was in his body, I spoke to his wife, who said:

"John, you are sleepwalking a lot. I'm concerned. Also, you recently said: 'I'm not John, I'm Alan.'"

Okay, it could be a dream, but I often sleepwalk, and yesterday my wife told me that I said:

"I'm not Alan, I'm John".

Is it possible that sleepwalking is an entanglement of alternative realities?
