Oh What a Wedding it Was!
by Christopher T. Dabrowski
Translated from Polish by Julia Mraczny
"Do you take Amadeus Rosenkrantz to be Aldona's lawfully wedded husband?"
The priest asked the standard formula.
"I do."
"Do you take Tobias Kowalski to be your wife Aldona…?" he asked.
He repeated it fifteen more times - each time he addressed me. Every time the answer was the same:
"I do."
Then he turned to my beloved. Aldona said:
"I do."
After a while, we were husbands, wives and wife.
The wedding was a breeze compared to what I had to do to convince my other personalities (including female) to marry Aldona. Well, that's the charm of having multiple personalities.
