Now You Can Believe...

by Christopher T. Dabrowski

Translated from Polish by Julia Mraczny

A rich man can believe that, thought Adam and stretched lazily.

It was the first Sunday after years when he could sleep in.

He praised God when the church authorities, plagued by a severe economic crisis, launched many services to bolster the budget.

Adam seized the opportunity.

He wished to buy a packet of morning Hail Marys for a month but decided to take one for the year instead. He bought the evening prayers as well. Such a deal!

This way, someone would pray on his behalf for a whole year.

Perfect with a year's package for substitute mass attendance.
