Cosmoarchaeology
by Christopher T. Dabrowski
Translated from Polish by Julia Mraczny
Civilisation once flourished on this planet.
Our cosmoarchaeologists have dug up some working equipment from centuries ago.
It turns out that the inhabitants of this world invented something like the internet.
It's a strange feeling to know that as their bones crumble, they are fixed in digital photos and text on so-called portals.
Thumbs up. Thumbs down. Gossip. Hate. Vanity.
No wonder they died out.
With them, it went the wrong way. Nobody realised in time - well, that is a shame.
They say the atom, they say wars, but nothing is as debilitating as the megalomania of vain little people.
