Roswell

by C. E. Gee

Jerry asked, “So, Buck, watcha been working on?”

“Writing a blog article about my connection to the UFO incident in Roswell,” replied Buck.

Jerry raised his eyebrows.

Buck continued, “The Roswell incident happened in June 1947. Most of the aliens were killed in the crash. I was born in September 1947. If you’ve ever read my Science Fiction story Pappy's Trip I figure you can make the connection.”

There came a pause while Buck considered his next statement. “The spirit of a dead alien occupied my fetus while it was still in my Mom’s womb.”

“I always knew you were strange, right from the day we first met. You were 17 at the time,” replied Jerry. “When my sister broke up with you, she said it was because you were so strange.”

Buck nodded, smirked, replied, “I knew I was strange and out of place as soon as I was old enough to think and observe humans.”

Jerry laughed, gripped Buck’s shoulder, saying, “Well, welcome to Earth.”

Earth was never the same after Buck and Jerry’s conversation.

Buck was an ardent Facebook user, shared many posts concerning the rising interest in aliens, also posted a blog article on the subject.

Jerry had many friends, told them about Buck.

The aliens monitored radio frequency transmissions, saw Buck’s Facebook posts, decided it was time to reveal themselves. They sent a ship to the International Space Station, welcomed the people of Earth into Galactic Society.
