Celestial Sister

by Kenneth Vincent Walker

Akin to the Earth
In both size and
Mass and spins
In reverse unlike

Earth from east
To west; slowly,
Ever so slowly, at
A brisk walking

Pace that it takes
225 Earth days to
Make one revolution
In space; as she is

Turbulent, toxic, with
Gases which would
End the human race;
Yet beautiful and yes

Venus is her name.

Kenneth Vincent Walker is a "New Formalist" poet, spoken word artist, performer and author of Borderline Absurd (An Exercise in Rhyme and Reason), published by Poem Sugar Press/ Community Arts Ink, 2015, and available on Amazon. Also he is published in numerous online magazines, journals and blogs.

Kenneth has been labeled a "wordsmith" and has read, recited and performed his eloquent and eclectic brand of poetry reminiscent of the Golden Age and the Romantic Era with a Beatnik to modern sensibility and twist at coffeehouses, bookstores and outdoor festivals throughout the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.

Lastly, Kenneth's voice may be heard on Spotify in his short yet chilling podcasts of 'Noir Poetry' set to music exhibiting a darker side highly influenced by The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock and the writings of the immortal Edgar Allan Poe.
