The Romance of Mercury
by Meg Smith
A world makes an easy rebel —
small, swift, lacking moons
or clear date line between
midnight, or noon.
This one, true to its brazen star,
steals all dust, eludes all fires
until the last great solar storm
gives — an eternity, emptied.
