Ancient Environs IX

by John Frazee

Illuminating finely honed edges
Shards penetrate from within
Awash with vibrating colors
Eddies, currents and whirlpools spin

In a state of constant flux
The sky and mother earth
We ask god for safe passage
For whatever that is worth

Falling on deaf ears
Is the scream of the sirens
Beckoning us home
To our ancient environs
